Oxford is a delightful small, rural town situated in the foothills of the Berkshire mountains.  Woods, undeveloped land and trout streams a mixed in with beautiful subdivision, horse and dairy farms, and well-hidden lights industrial areas new the Waterbury-Oxford Airport, the third busiest in the State.  Easy access to Routes 8, 67, 34, 188 and I-84 make Oxford attractive to commuters.

Jackson's Cove Park on Lake Zoar for swimming and Posypanko Park in the Quaker Farms section of Oxford, along with ballfields and Kirk's Pond in Oxford Center for ice skating, offer year round activities for the family.  The Park & Recreation Department offers programs for children, adults and seniors.  The Annual Fireman's Carnival and Parade are fun for young and old alike.

Oxford, which has a population of approximately 10,600, is governed by a First Selectman and a three-person Board of Selectman, with open town meetings. 

Recently an over-55 golf course community, Oxford Greens, has opened, as well as Meadowbrook, another over-55 community.  Both offer a fantastic lifestyle.
